App Store Bundled Services May Receive Significant Discount from Apple in the Near Future
Apple has been accused of giving secret deals to platforms that help them keep some of their purchases, but the company may soon lure developers with a unique offer. Apple has reportedly launched a pilot program that gives App Store developers the freedom to offer their apps at special discounts if users make multiple orders.
The deal doesn’t require the apps to be from the same developer, in fact you can pay for two different apps, and developers can collaborate and offer a special price for their respective apps.
The discount is only available when both developers are ready to offer the contract. Apple is planning big changes in the coming months as it prepares to comply with EU laws that guarantee Apple other app stores can run on its devices.
The company is also expected to make the platform attractive to developers so they can earn money, while customers will have more incentives to pay for services through the App Store or other means.
Apple users never say no to discounts, not even to paid services, but the development is still in the testing phase, so iPhone users will have to wait a while before it actually reaches them in public.
Apple has a lot of say in how developers push their apps to the App Store, but even then it’s managed to get deals done differently, especially if you’re from the upper echelons of Google and Spotify.
Testing of these offerings will begin in the coming months, and if Apple feels the program will work on a larger scale, it will surely make announcements, probably by the time WWDC 2024 knocks on the door.
